And That's a Wrap!

Thank-you to everyone for making our 2014 Winter Concert a huge success. The kids were happy with their performances and they worked so hard.  It's now time for a much needed rest. Wishing your family a happy, restful and safe holiday season.  See you in January!

10... 9... 8...

Today was a full day of practicing on the stage, getting used to speaking in a microphone, knowing where to stand and singing loudly for an audience.  Tomorrow is the big day!

Good luck to all the students.  You're looking good!

A huge thanks to all the staff for your help in making this happen.  It isn't possible to get a show like this off the ground without everyone's support.

See you at the show.  (See side bar for times!)

Tis the Season

Students have been SUPER busy this week rehearsing for our upcoming concerts.  We are excited to share with you our work.  It's coming together!   Songs and videos for practicing are posted on the above tabs: "K-3 Concert Songs" and "4-5 Concert Songs."  Please check with your child's homeroom teacher for costume notices.

We have 3 shows.   Please see side bar notice for the dates and times.  All students are needed for their parts.  For the evening shows, students need to arrive for 6:30 to get their costumes on and ready for the 7:00 start.

We have several rehearsals on Monday and Tuesday.  It is going to be busy so please make sure your child is getting good rest at night and coming to school with a healthy breakfast in their tummies.  Healthy snacks are important for break times.  In addition, a water bottle is also a great idea to keep the voice and body hydrated.   Thanks for your help and see you at the show!

ALSO... we will be collecting for Winnipeg Harvest.  Please see the following list for the top 10 most needed foods.
  1. Canned fish and poultry – tuna, or salmon (packed in water) chicken or turkey
  2. Canned fruit and vegetables (packed in own juice)
  3. Canned stew, chili, brown beans
  4. Peanut Butter
  5. Baby Food – jars of chicken, beef, vegetables or fruit, infant cereal such as oatmeal, barley or rice, Formula with added iron (While donations of infant formula with added iron are needed, Winnipeg Harvest supports breastfeeding.)

  7. Rice – brown, converted or parboiled
  8. Canned spaghetti sauce or tomatoes
  9. Cereal – high fiber, non-sugar coated

Student Conferences

Thank you to all the parents and students who came by the music room tonight to check out our music work and meet me!  Please check out our Remembrance Day videos below and the work your child is doing for our winter concert under "K-3 concert songs" or "4-5 concert songs" on the tabs above.

I am not available on Friday morning but don't hesitate to contact me via email (Ms. Rempel's email) or call the school to set up a time if you need to speak with me.  I appreciate the feedback and questions you might have regarding your student or the music program at Stevenson.
